To assist in getting a grip on rational thinking, we need to use situations which generate a troubled state of mind; we need a problem, because rational thinking therapy is very solution oriented, and there is no solution without a problem. A process is a meaningful, repeatable series of steps that produces an outcome. Here is a story about rational thinking that we hope you will appreciate.

Many times emotions can keep us from thinking rationally and coming to a potentially obvious conclusion. Rationality implies the conformity of one's beliefs with one's reasons to believe, and of one's actions with one's reasons for action. Rational thinking is where an individual will think in a logically consistent way. However, you know better; you never let your emotions blind you from the obvious truths. "Rationality" has different specialized meanings in philosophy, economics, sociology, psychology, evolutionary biology, game theory and political science.
We need to make a distinction between thinking logically and thinking rationally.
