MYSORE: A green anaconda housed at the Mysore Zoo has hatched an egg graduating the Mysore facility as India's first zoo to have successfully bred the world's biggest snake.
A four year old anaconda is found to have hatched the egg on Friday and the newborn is shifted to the zoo hospital, the executive director B P Ravi said on Sunday. The zoo attributed its death to a nervous disorder and argued it was possibly a weakling but said the exact reasons will be known after a post-mortem. Mysore zoo is created in 1892 on 10 acres of land and now it is spreading across 157 acres.
